The Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System (PQAS) is a statewide approval system implemented by the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) and the Pennsylvania Key to ensure quality professional development for early childhood and school-age professionals across Pennsylvania. PQAS maintains a registry of approved Instructors and Professional Learning Organizations, helping to ensure professional development activities meet established quality standards. Currently, over 7,000 PQAS-approved courses are available, with options spanning infant, toddler, preschool/pre-K, and school-age settings, as well as business and program administration.
Courses are available in a wide array of options, including Spanish-language offerings, ACT 48-eligible training, and CDA-aligned content. In addition, courses are aligned with the eight Professional Standard Areas and the eight CDA Content Areas. This structure allows professionals to select training that supports their role, setting, and professional growth goals.
