| Title: | Professional Development Day - Clearfield County |
| Description: | Early care & education practitioners will participate in a 6 hour training consisting of 3 different topics. "Play it Safe: Fire Safety" will be offered from 9:00-11:00 a.m. by EMS Emergency Management coordinator, Jerry Pollock. Participants will learn to use a fire extinguisher on a controlled fire, and discuss which smoke alarms and fire extinguishers are appropriate for your child care facility. "Germs: Friend or Foe" will be offered from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. by Dept of Health RN, Kelly Pentz. Participants will have a better understanding of how germs are transmitted to improve their handwashing, diapering and toileting procedures in the child care facilities. "Let's Explore! Encouraging Curiosity in Young Children - Mr. Roger's Series" will be offered from 1:45-3:45 p.m. by Jacqueline Amor-Zitzelberger, Extension educator. Participants will learn how to encourage curiosity with children through science especially with young girls. |

Those individuals not cancelling one business day before the scheduled event will be assessed a $15.00 materials' fee. Materials will be mailed to you upon receipt of payment. Penn State is an Act 48 approved provider. Professional educators are encouraged to confirm that this program fits their school district's professional development plan for Act 48. Earn 6hours toward fulfilling Act 48 requirements by attending this entire program. CEU's are available upon request. |
