Relative/Neighbor
As of July 1, 2009, Relative/Neighbor (R/N) providers will start to participate in 12 hours of training over a two-year period if they wish to be paid for caring for children in the subsidized child care program. Relative/Neighbor providers will be required to meet this training requirement from the date that their CareCheck is renewed. From the CareCheck renewal date, providers will have two years to complete 12 hours of training.
Providers will be able to take advantage of the professional development offered through the Pennsylvania Early Learning Keys to Quality Professional Development system. Approved trainings can be found in the Intranet Zone. To access these opportunities click on login in the upper right hand corner of this website and use your birthdate and last five (5) digits of your Social Security Number to log in. Once logged in, click on Calendar to find local workshops or click on Self-Learning to find professional development opportunities you can do at home.
For more information or questions about the new professional development requirement, please contact the Child Care Information Services (CCIS) office in your area.
