Institute 2009

The 2nd annual Higher Education Institute was held from June 1-3, 2009 at the Holiday Inn, Grantville, PA.  The 3-day professional development event was sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), Office of Child Development & Early Learning (OCDEL), Pennsylvania Key and BUILD.  The conference offered evidence-based models, strategies, innovative ideas and best practices for diversity-infused teacher education programs and professional development offerings including opportunities to network with those who are making a difference in their programs and the lives of young children and their families.

Institute 2008

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL), and the Pennsylvania Key held the first Pennsylvania Higher Education Institute in spring 2008.

This unique and exciting two-day professional development event provided methods, models, and materials to enhance our work. The focus of the institute was to increase the emphasis on cultural, linguistic, and ability diversity. Participants also addressed Chapter 49-2 requirements in course offerings, practica, and program practices.
